The vision
Safe Streets Bernal is advocating for Slow Streets near Leonard Flynn Elementary, Junipero Serra Elementary, Junipero Serra Annex Early Education School, and Paul Revere School. The goal is to create safer, calmer streets where children can walk, bike, and scoot to school without the danger of fast-moving traffic.
What are Slow Streets?
San Francisco’s Slow Streets program designates neighborhood streets as low-traffic, pedestrian- and bike-friendly corridors by limiting through traffic and reducing speeds. Local vehicle access remains. Despite a strong community of families, Bernal Heights still has no designated Slow Streets.
